Hey friends–

It’s been a minute since we’ve done one of these… and there are fun things to share!

Since leaving Denver in the spring of 2017, the Arndt tribe has found family with the good people of New Life Church. Our time here has been incredibly enriching, healing, and centering, and we are flourishing in every way.

One of the things that we’ve loved is watching (and participating in) the beautiful and expansive work of the Spirit here. We like to say that New Life is one church worshipping in six congregations at four locations speaking three different languages.

I know that’s a bit confusing – but basically we have six congregations (New Life North, New Life Friday Night, New Life Downtown, Nueva Vida, New Life Manitou Springs, and our New Life Chinese Church) with shared theology, values, and resources, each empowered to reach the people and area of the city God has called them to.

It’s a sweet model, and the Lord is moving through it.

And…

Colorado Springs is growing. Depending on who you talk to, the east side of the city in particular is poised to see tens of thousands of new homes built in the next 15 years. In fact, we’re already seeing it. The east side of Colorado Springs is exploding, and desperately needs churches to shepherd these people.

Over the past couple years, our Senior Pastor, Brady Boyd, along with New Life’s elders have felt a stirring to start a new congregation on the east side. About a year ago, Pastor Brady started talking with Mandi and I about leading it.

After a good bit of prayer and discussion, we said yes.

Fun!

And…

You can’t really do very much until you have a location. We scoured the east side for the better part of six months and just couldn’t find anything. And then, early this summer, we stumbled into it – Grand Peak Academy

Grand Peak (pre-K through 8th grade) is a brand new build not far from where we live (just east of Black Forest Road on Cowpoke – great street name, right?). 25,000 square feet, all kinds of classrooms for us to use for kids ministry, a nice gymnasium to worship in, playgrounds and parks all around, and situated right in the midst of a whole bunch of new housing.

It’s awesome, and we’re completely jazzed about it. We’re starting to hold interest meetings for the new congregation (New Life East) and we’ve already been blown away by the response. It’s neat to see people so eager to jump into a fresh work.

We’re going to start holding services at Grand Peak in January to get a feel for the space. 11am on Sunday mornings. And then we’ll officially launch in February. Exciting times!

Mandi and I could not be more grateful or humbled that Pastor Brady and New Life’s leadership would trust us with this, and we are just so eager to see what God will do through it.

Thanks as always for your interest in and prayers for the Arndt family. It means the world to us. (And if you’d like to find out more about NLE or would like to be involved – let me know!)

Grace and peace,

Andrew
